Begging 101

Freegans. These are people who deliberately choose poverty. They choose to dumpster-dive and eat trash. They choose to eat cast-off food that used to feed the homeless, who used to subsist (barely) on what they could find in dumpsters. That is before freegans, who are well educated, not insane and unmedicated, organized, networked and plan their dumpster dives in groups like "outings" began to compete with the homeless for the food in the dumpsters. Now outnumbered and outmaneuvered by their better organized and better (mentally) equipped competition, homeless people's resources are dwindling.

What is this nonsense about? In this economy we've got dropouts? You bunch of losers! You cheap, lousy scum!

I saw Lisa Ling following some of these bastards around on Oprah, and what I heard were a bunch of societal dropouts who were well educated people who just decided to be non-productive members of a non-society. Oh they give some silly principles about how they don't want to contribute to the corrupt system that manufactures the products by paying for them, but look here - you're eating it, so that's a contribution! Spit it out, you hypocrite!

YOU LIVE HERE! YOU ARE PART OF THIS SYSTEM! YOU ARE PART OF THIS SOCIAL CONTRACT. YOU DON'T LIKE IT? LEAVE AND FIND A CONTRACT ELSEWHERE THAT YOU LIKE. I won't miss you. GET OUT!

Unless and until dumpster diving becomes a necessity don't be diving in a dumpster like it's a party, it's not a party, it's a humiliating and disgraceful experience! Who would want to choose to live and eat like that!
